Free Wordpress Themes

If you are anything like me, you have probably spent just as much time searching for the perfect Wordpress theme as you have spent actually blogging. The internet is cluttered with free Wordpress themes that have bad or incomplete code, , and are just plain ugly. Many of the beautiful themes now require a paid subscription, which may be unrealistic for those just wanting to share their lives with friends, family and anyone else who may stumble across their little slice of the world wide web.

I got tired of hacking apart somebody else's Wordpress themes to make them look and feel the way I wanted, and I certainly wasn't going to pay upwards of $100 for a theme that I may grow tired of in 2 months. So I set out and started making my own themes. I am offering those themes here, free of charge, because I know the frustrations involved in searching for great themes. So go ahead, try whatever you like, use them as they are or tweak them to make them your own.

If you have any questions, problems, or want to make suggestions for future themes or features, visit the support forums and let me know. If you're using one of my themes, I'll try my best to help make it a simple, enjoyable solution for you.

Changing the [...] text after the_excerpt(); in WordPress

Using the .htaccess file to force PHP5 in WordPress, particularly with 1&1 Hosting

Many of the latest (and subsequently best) WordPress plugins exclusively require PHP5 to function. While many webhosts come with PHP5 standard (GoDaddy for example), your webhost may not – especially if you’re like me and using 1&1. I spent a lot of time trolling internet forums and support boards looking for a solution to force [...]

HTTP Error when uploading images in WordPress

If you receive an HTTP Error when trying to upload images (particularly large images) to your WordPress pages and posts, the problem is most likely related to your Memory Limit in the version of PHP you are using (which is probably PHP4). The best solution? You need to get WordPress onto PHP5: Upgrade your version [...]
